Anupreet Kaur is a pianist and vocalist from Chandigarh, now residing in New Delhi. She started writing poetry at age 8, and began setting it to music by age 11. She has been a self-taught musician throughout school and college, exploring pop and rock music. Anupreet went on to study classical music, and completed herĀ Grade 5 in Piano performance and Grade 5 theory from ABRSM, in 2012. Since then, her focus has broadened to include improvised music, such as jazz. She studied Harmony and Ear Training courses of the Berklee college of music curriculum.

She has been a piano and voice instructor since 2012. She likes to keep working on her skills as an improviser, performer and arranger.

Her influences include Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, rock bands such as Rush, fusion acts like Junoon, and singer-songwriters such as Sting and Simon and Garfunkel.
