Gyan Singh is an accomplished Hindustani classical Tabla Player with many years of training under the guidance of late Ustad Abdullah Khan. Thereafter undertaking intensive training under the guidance of Ustad Faiyaz Khan and Pt.Suresh Talwarkar. Gyan has played in various prestigious festivals like Sahitya Kala Parishad’s Jhankar Utsav, Khajuraho millennium festival, Maharana Kumbha Festival, Jaipur Virasat festival & literature festival, Gwaliar Virasat festival & Dharohar festival, Bangalore Habba festival, Mumbai festival & Mumbai Tabla Festival, Jahan-ekhusro,Delhi, International Arts Festival, Spic Macay etc. and with artists like Pt.T.V.Gopalakrishnan, Smt.Sulochna Brahaspati, Pt. Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Sh. Rajendra Prasanna, Sh. Shubhendra Rao, Smt. Meeta Pandit. He has also played in Ustad Amjad Ali Khan’s Orchestra, Taal Vadya Kacheri (percussion ensemble). He is well known in session Music circuit for his innovative skill.

Gyan has been associated with India’s top Rock Bands like Parikrama, Band of Boys, Penaz Masani, Orange street and others. He has also played with DJs like Whosane, Clement,Nasha and DJ San.

Gyan is one of the founder member of world Music Band “Mrigya” performing for global audiences at venues like Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Celtic connections, Glasgow Piping live, St. Magnus festival, Asian Music Circuit’s tour (U.K.), Dubai Jazz Festival, New Zealand International Arts Festival, Singapore Esplanade Festival, Art’s Alive (South Africa), India Festival (Russia), India @ 60 (New York), Frankfurt International Book Fair, Asia Pacific Week (Germany), Rhythm & Dance (Sweden), Etno Sur Festival, Festival de Luna (Spain), Druga Godba and Drum Festival (Slovenia) etc.
During the month of Nov 2003, he toured with French Jazz Fusion Band Mukta and added his flavor to their album “Mukta Haveli” released under Warner music France. In the year 2005, Gyan was on tour with the renowned French pianist Allie Delfau, Gyan has on many occasions lent his talent to Spanish superact “Ojos de Brojo” and added his flavor in their album “”Techari Live”. Over the years of touring and interaction with international artists, Gyan got several opportunities to form liaisons and explore new musical horizons, Highlights of various associations are India Alba (Scotland), Sagar & Kurkuma (Slovenia) and Ativata (Spain). Gyan also got the opportunity to play with renowned saxophonist George Brooks and legendary flamenco guitarist Pepe Habichuela, Gyan has also featured on Pepe Habichuela’s studio production.
