Anirudh Varma

EXPERIENCE
Anirudh Varma is a 24 year old contemporary pianist, composer and producer. His training in both Western and Hindustani classical music has created a unique and often unconventional technique and musical style. A Grade 8 pianist from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, London, from where he is currently working on his diploma, he is also a Masters Graduate in Performance Studies from Ambedkar University, Delhi.

Anirudh gave his Rrst public performance at the age of six, and has had several solo and group performances ever since. He has collaborated with members of bands such as Advaita, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Mrigya, and is currently working on a collaboration with musicians from Berklee College of Music. He has worked as a composer and music arranger in projects such as the title song for Delhi government's "Roopantar" project under "Sarva Siksha Abhiyan” scheme and music for Gurgaon’s community radio station ‘Gurgaon Ki Awaaz’. He also contributed to the background score of a documentary Rlm as part of a program on Citi Global Encounters, screened at the Carnegie Hall, USA. He has also worked as a teaching artist, and composer with Delhi based NGO Music Basti.

Anirudh released his debut EP (Extended Play) ‘Melancholic Rhapsody’, in early 2016, which combines elements of Western Classical, American Jazz & Indian Classical Music. Anirudh released his debut full length album titled ‘Perspectives’ in March 2018, featuring his ensemble - The Anirudh Varma Collective comprising of over 100 musicians and artists.
