Ngavapmi Raikhan

Ngavapmi Raikhan is a classically trained vocalist and dedicated music educator based in Dimapur, Nagaland. With a strong foundation in vocal performance and music pedagogy, he has built a reputation for nurturing students across all age groups, from young children to adults.He holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Vocal Performance from the Margaret Shishak School of Music, where he graduated with distinction.

His academic training is complemented by a Diploma in Music and multiple Certificates of Merit for exceptional performance. His musical excellence was further recognized when he performed as part of the Nagaland Madrigal Singers, a choir that won a Gold Medal at the 2023 World Choir Games.  

As an educator, Ngavapmi has over three years of teaching experience, specializing in voice, piano, music theory, conducting, and aural skills. He has taught at respected institutions including Shofar Music Academy, Milestone Music School, and Ren’s Studio in Dimapur. His teaching style is highly personalized, tailoring lessons to each student’s goals, abilities, and learning style. He is equally skilled in private instruction, group classes, ensemble direction, and preparing students for examinations, recitals, and performances.  

Beyond the classroom, Ngavapmi is an accomplished solo performer and chorister with both national and international stage experience. His versatility spans multiple musical genres, supported by deep expertise in vocal technique, music theory, conducting, composition, and arrangement. He is also proficient in piano and guitar, and comfortable using music technology tools such as Sibelius, Reaper, and BandLab.
