I was bullied into doing this workshop by none other than our very own Nidhi Maam.
Walking into one world on a Wednesday evening, with zero support from my vocal chords and a blocked nose , the only thought l could “voice” out was “how will I sing ?! “.
Our first day began with a handshake with Harmonie Maam and Bhanu Sir and that’s how we took off. The workshop was an amalgamation of laughter, fun relaxation techniques, patience, getting to know each other, “the sarodh” ,reading music , translating from French to English and how can we forget , asking Arjav to stay in one place.
Each day the beginnings felt magical , a little amusing , mystical and as the day progressed , we felt Technically sound as if every part of the body was being tuned to play out the best harmony.
The choice between the devil and the deep blue sea has never been easy, mine was “Deep blue sea” a song that sounded simple but wasn’t the easiest to deliver.
The workshop progressed hand-in-hand with fascinating 6 to 18 year olds and the most inspiring Harmonie Maam , who sang like a nightingale and suave and funny, Bhaanu sir .
The cherry on the cake was our very own Sherry Sir , Smiti Maam and Subhadra Maam , who sang with us, had fun with us, tutored us and it felt so wholesome.
These four days of the “Polyphonic Acappella workshop” have been the most power packed with professional panache and musically educating days for us. We felt privileged and honoured by being trained by such a coveted faculty under the able leadership of our dearest, Nidhi Maam.
“One world College of music “ is indeed the most sound learning ground that gives wings to aspiring musicians.
On the fourth and final day , as Chan Maam recorded and captured our happiest and most cherishable moments , the show was a huge success , as in our hearts we knew that we were being watched and applauded by “3000 people “ – as Harmonie ma’am says.
