- REHAN MATHUR
The audience was poised to leave. They had finished their drinks and empty plates lay in front. The door was opened midway. A voice stopped them. The last performance wasn’t done. Volume knobs were rolled, mikes were tested and the drumsticks were out. We were ready to roll.
The past weeks were filled with hectic schedules, impromptu rehearsals and nervous energy. Soon our days grew shorter and rehearsals longer as the D-Day arrived.
Sound check happened in a blurry as we practiced our pieces for the last time before getting up on the stage in front of complete strangers who had come to listen to good music. Finally, our time had come.
The stage was lit on fire by previous bands with their electric performances. The audience was also charged up and cheered us onto the stage, when it was our time. Volume knobs were rolled, mikes were tested and the drumsticks were out. We were ready to roll.
We did not fear the crowd or the stage. We tried our best to do justice to the songs that had become so familiar. The liveliness of the audience was all that we could ask for. They kept us going and pushed us to the best of our capabilities, all of which, made the performance at Saints N Sinners, a truly memorable one!
