Introducing ensemble-classes for students is an important part of their musical-journey apart from the one-on-one lessons with their respective Mentors. This is where students learn to interact and converse with their peers in the most basic way musically. This helps them exchange musical-ideas,opinions,preferences and thoughts about where each one comes from in the band and hopefully understand the basic aspects of performance and playing their instruments/parts together transforming into a musical-conversation.Here students are allowed to bring their choice of music/songs as a medium through which everyone can learn and connect with eachother, its a great way to bond as a Team-player.This is also the same for teachers involved as it helps them understand students' preferences in music/art etc.
When Students are allowed to interact with professionals/teachers playing together it helps them learn, hear and understand the language better in the same way we learnt our mother-tongue growing-up as toddlers with parents and older-siblings etc,its an "important-interaction".This gives them a sense of direction in the long and short-term with regard to where they stand in the learning curve/slope hopefully to understand more musical-vocabulary,rhythm,melody,harmony,space,syncopation,ideas, and different styles of Music from all around.
